Patents of alleged Apple glasses and a headband type headphones appear

Apple's augmented reality glasses could be months away from being officially presented. The company began to develop this type of technology several years ago , and little by little they have managed to create an augmented reality platform that could become the definitive one with ARKit. Now, already several days of the possible presentation of ARKit 3 in WWDC 2019, it seems that we could have very close the first attempt of the company with this type of hardware.

Thanks to Patently Apple we have been able to know the existence of some patents related to what appear to be augmented reality glasses. Specifically, among the designs would predominate glasses in which it is possible to insert the iPhone to use it as a screen , although they could have a completely different design. For example, it has been rumored in the past that the iPhone could have the ability to process the glasses to leave them in a separate screen.

Along with these new patents related to augmented reality, we have also been able to access some more related to the new headphones that Apple could be creating for the near future. Previously, it was indicated that the company was thinking of offering headsets for those who had not managed to convince with the AirPods. In this case, the patent refers to optical proximity sensors that would be installed in these headphones.

The sensor shown in the patent schemes could have the same function as those found in the AirPods , which allows to pause and resume playback depending on whether they are covered or not. For now, the two patents are useful for us to know that Apple is still working on both products. Even, that a possible presentation of both could be closer than we think.
