This is what happens when immersing the iPhone XS Max in 2 liters of beer

The new flagships of Apple, the iPhone XS and XS Max , are the first smartphones of the company to have the IP68 certificate, which promises resistance to water and dust . Phil Schiller, in the Keynote last September 12, put special emphasis on this, ensuring that tests had been done with different types of liquids.

THE TEAM TESTED WITH MANY DIFFERENT TYPES OF LIQUIDS; CHLORINATED WATER, SALT WATER, ORANGE JUICE, TEA, WINE, EVEN BEER. THIS IS ONE OF THE FUNNIEST THINGS WE DO AT APPLE, THE INTENSE TESTS

The iPhone XS survives hours submerged in beer
Accidents due to liquid spills are very common, especially in summer when you are in the pool or on the beach. According to IP68, the resistance against dust and water for a certain period of time must be specified by the manufacturer. In the case of Apple, they are 30 minutes up to two meters deep .

However, these are only estimates. Sometimes times can be higher (or shorter) . One of the most popular cases is the iPhone X that survived for two weeks at the bottom of a river.

The guys from iFixit, where they devote themselves to gutting devices to see inside and assess their degree of repairability, have tested with the iPhone XS. The experiment consists of seeing how long it can last submerged in a tube under two meters of liquid .

But the liquid in which the test is performed is not water, but beer. The experiment lasted five hours, in which the iPhone XS survived without any problem . Far beyond Apple's "advice" of 30 minutes. It is possible that had he continued to be immersed in the beer he would continue to function, at least, until he ran out of battery.

Now, we know that if we go to the Oktoberfest and the iPhone XS falls in a tankard of beer, it will be able to get out alive without problems .
