The benchmarks do not lie: the Samsung Galaxy S9 is slower than the iPhone 7!

The new and brand new Samsung Galaxy S9 integrates a slower processor than the iPhone 8 and iPhone X , according to the first benchmarks made with the new flagship of the South Koreans.

And not only that, because the Exynos 9810 chip is behind not only the A11 Bionic, but also the A10 of the iPhone 7 , as we can read in Anandtech . Of course, fortunately for Samsung, yes it exceeds its predecessor.

Perhaps it is not too surprising because we are already used to these power exhibitions by the bitten apple , however it is curious that the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 + is behind a model with 6 months old, but also with another dating from September 2017. That's a good purchase.

The first test applied was the GeekBench 4 Single Core for a single core , in which we see that the Exynos 9810 achieves a score of 3,734 and 3,440, a figure below the 4,630 and 3,958 of the A11 and even the 4,007 and 3,345 of the A10 belonging to the iPhone 7. Yes, very tight. By the way, if we talk about the "revolutionary" Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip, we still have to look down: 2,718 and 2,041.

But the web is not satisfied with this test and also submits the chips to another battery of benchmarks that take into account megahertz or activities such as web browsing, data storage, writing, photo editing, among others. In general, the iPhone 7 is still above in most tests, but we must recognize that for example the Samsung Galaxy S9 exceeds in others. Where there is no discussion is with the iPhone 8 and iPhone X, always above .

To what extent are these results important?

Benchmarks are programs that maximize the hardware of a device simply to evaluate its performance. It is about synthetic results obtained in certain situations, not in real life . It does not mean that if you buy an iPhone X you will notice a huge difference compared to the new Samsung Galaxy S9 or even the iPhone 7.

As we have already indicated, benchmarks should not be a reference for you to buy a mobile phone or another , because in fact, the chips have already reached such a level to supply our daily tasks with fluidity.

And is that a processor or RAM is not everything: the software and especially the operating system have a fundamental role in the daily performance of a device and here, Apple and its iOS are masters in optimization.
